JORGE MASVIDAL has announced a shock retirement U-turn – just in time for rival Leon Edwards’ UFC 300 fight.
Masvidal called time on his career in April after four losses on the bounce but did keep the door open to a return.

And fans could not help notice that the announcement comes swiftly after Edwards claimed he would be fighting on the historic UFC 300 card.
One said: “300?”
Another added: “Imagine if UFC does Leon Edwards vs Jorge Masvidal for #UFC300.”
One agreed: “Edwards vs Masvidal sounds good to me.”
The history between the pair dates back to 2019 when Masvidal punched Edwards backstage at UFC London following a row between the pair.
They were set to fight in December 2021 at UFC 296 but Masvidal, 39, was forced to withdraw injured.
He would fight arch enemy Colby Covington, 35, in April 2022 and was beaten on points.

Masvidal returned 13 months later but following defeat to Gilbert Burns, he retired.
Edwards, 32, meanwhile won the welterweight crown with a head kick KO against Kamaru Usman, 36, and then retained the belt in a rematch.
He would go onto defeat Covington in December and recently revealed he is set to fight at UFC 300 on April 13 in Las Vegas.
Contenders Belal Muhammad, 35, and Burns, 37, are frontrunners to face Edwards for the strap.
