Judd Trump pulls out of Scottish Open just days after UK Championship win and banking seven-figure earnings for year

JUDD TRUMP has withdrawn from the Scottish Open following his UK Championship triumph.

The 35-year-old clinched the title in York with a 10-8 win over Barry Hawkins on Sunday.

It was his second UK Championship win and fifth Triple Crown victory.

World No1 Trump took home £250,000 from claiming the trophy, a result which moves his 2024 earnings beyond the £1million mark.

He was due to face Singh Chadha in the last-64 of the Scottish Open in Edinburgh next week.

However, it has now been confirmed he has pulled out of the tournament.

A statement from the World Snooker Tour read: “Judd Trump has pulled out of this month’s BetVictor Scottish Open in Edinburgh.

“Trump was due to face Ishpreet Singh Chadha in the last 64 on Monday, December 9 – instead Singh Chadha receives a bye to the last 32.”

Trump has his eyes set on adding the Masters and World Championships to the Saudi Arabia Masters and UK Championship wins he has already picked up this season.

He said: “It would be absolutely incredible to win all four.

“There’s no reason why not. I’m playing well enough. I’m dedicated enough. I’m hungry enough.

“It would be amazing to be the first person to win the four majors now. It would be nice to do a clean sweep.

“In terms of prize money, I have won the three biggest events of the season so far.”
