Julia Roberts breaks Pep Guardiola’s heart again as she reveals she is a ‘true Man Utd fan who became possessed by club’

PEP GUARDIOLA has won it all in football.

But one of the his biggest heartbreaks might just be Julia Roberts being a fan of sworn rivals Manchester United.

Manchester City boss Guardiola has confessed himself to be a huge fan of the Pretty Woman actress, labelling her one of his three idols.

However, Roberts has previously broken the Spaniard’s heart by admitting she is a supporter of the Red Devils.

And her interview on The Graham Norton Show on Friday night may have served to shatter Guardiola‘s heart into even more pieces.

When asked about how she came to support Red Devils, the 56-year-old revealed she and her family had been “possessed” by their fandom.

She said: “I’ve been to Old Trafford, I’m a true fan.

“I have three children and when they were really little and started playing soccer they started watching it on TV.

“I didn’t ever realise how exciting it was to watch it on television. We just got so into it and somehow Manchester United just became our team, the Moder family team.

“We became sort of possessed.”

Roberts posed alongside Man Utd boss Erik ten Hag during the club’s pre-season tour of America.

She was also seen in snaps with Bruno Fernandes, Marcus Rashford and Casemiro

In March, Guardiola lamented the fact that Roberts had not stopped at the Etihad on her last visit to England which had seen a stop at Old Trafford.

The 52-year-old said: “She went to visit Man United. She didn’t come to see us. 

“That’s why even if I win the Champions League it will not compare for the fact that Julia Roberts came to Manchester and didn’t come to see us.

“Even if I win the Champions League it will not compare to this disappointment I had.”

He also joked he was a “failure” for failing to convince Roberts to cross the City-United divide.

Alongside Roberts, Guardiola named Tiger Woods and Michael Jordan as his trio of idols.
