Jumps racing returns to Aintree on Saturday with Grand Sefton Chase the main attraction

THE Jumps racing season steps up a notch this weekend with the Grand Sefton Chase the big race from Aintree on Saturday.

Last season’s runner-up Gesskille looks poised to have another go this year, having gone down by just a nose to Al Dancer last year.

He’s the current antepost favourite, with 16 entries in the current line-up so far.

Nicky Henderson saddles Fantastic Lady in the race, last seen finishing third to Hewick in the Oaksey Chase at Sandown.

It looks set to be a wide-open betting race and another exciting chase to set up a busy few months for the sport.

Looking for even more excitement? You’re in luck! Our partners Tote have launched a fantasy game you can play to add to the drama…

It’s essentially Fantasy Football but for horses – with the chance to earn the bragging rights over your mates and win a bit of cash too!

Tote Fantasy - what you need to know

How to play

  1. Head to the Tote Fantasy site and simply pick your stable for the day with a budget of 10,000 mythical Guineas.
  2. You can see what other players are picking and study the form to come up with the strongest squad.
  3. Select your boosts. Your stable star can next you 2x points and bump up a place with the cheeky stewards’ enquiry.
  4. The good bit – score points and win money! Top 25 per cent of players make money – and the winner scoops the jackpot!

Your assigned budget isn’t going to get you too far. For example, in Fantasy Football you can’t have Alisson in goals, Kieran Trippier and Alexander-Arnold in defence, Kevin de Bruyne and Mo Salah in midfield with Erling Haaland up front.

And this budget is much the same, you must be clever with it and make sure you get the best value.

Essentially, a couple of cheap, solid options will be your friend.

But with a bit of good fortune (and a little bit of study time) there’s some gems in the Saturday racing that won’t cost you much, and will set you apart from the rest.

New to Tote? If so, you are eligible to claim their welcome offer, where you can bag £30 in free bets.

Simply visit the Tote website HERE**, register a new account and stake a tenner on horse racing. Once that’s settled — win or lose — your account will be credited with £30 free bets.
