TOTTENHAM ace Ryan Sessegnon issued a heartbreaking message confirming he suffered another devastating injury setback.
Sessegnon, 23, has been plagued by injury ever since his arrival at Spurs in 2019 and has been restricted to just seven minutes of football under manager Ange Postecoglou this season.
The versatile midfielder most recently underwent surgery on his left hamstring in the first week of pre-season training last summer.
And it looked like the former England youth international was turning a corner as he came on as a late substitute in the FA Cup third-round win over Burnley last month.
And just when Sessegnon “saw a light at the end of the tunnel” he injured his other hamstring.
The ex-Fulham star announced the heartbreaking news on social media and confirmed he will go under the knife once more.
According to the Evening Standard, the operation could sideline Sessegnon for the rest of the season.
The star is “gutted beyond belief” but promised he will pick himself up and “stay headstrong”.
The Tottenham ace thanked his fans for all the messages of support and called for kindness online.
Sessegnon posted: “Gutted beyond belief. Just when I saw a light at the end of the tunnel, and thought I was back doing what I love, I’ve had another setback.

“I’ve been down this road before. I’ll pick myself up, stay headstrong and begin my recovery in the best way possible.
“Having been through an operation and the recovery on my other hamstring last year, and knowing how strong that hamstring is now, I know this is the best solution to put an end to the reoccurring issues.
“Thank you to those who have sent messages of support — I can’t express how it feels.
“We’re all human at the end of the day, and I’m devastated more than anyone to have a setback. I’ll do everything I can to be back out on that pitch.
“Speaking on behalf of anyone who’s been in this situation, please be careful what you say online. Words hurt and no one chooses to be in this position.”
