In Arsenal’s 1-0 Champions League defeat to Inter Milan on Wednesday, Havertz was involved in a horrid head collision with Yann Bisseck.

The 25-year-old came off worse and was left with blood pouring down the side of his face.

He had to be subbed off due to the injury suffered in the final seconds of the match.

Havertz was patched up ahead of the today’s London derby but after going for another header, his cut suddenly opened up.

With 55 minutes on the clock, he went down clutching his head in pain.

Blood then began to flow from the cut again and the attacker was forced off the field temporarily.

A frustrated Havertz did not want to leave the pitch despite being ordered to by referee Michael Oliver.

Chelsea star Marc Cucurella seemingly alerted the official to the blood.

And then to add insult to injury, he was yellow carded for refusing to trudge off the field.

Havertz again received treatment and eventually returned to the field wearing a bandage around his head.

Things did not go well for the Arsenal star on his Stamford Bridge return, seeing a goal he scored in the first-half chalked off by VAR for offside.

Gabriel Martinelli did finally open the scoring for the Gunners before Pedro Neto earned a point with an equaliser.
