CHELSEA goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga has agreed to join Bournemouth on loan.

SunSport exclusively revealed last week that Kepa held talks with Cherries boss Andoni Iraola over a season-long loan spell.

The Spaniard received assurances that he would be first choice goalkeeper if he were to complete the switch.

And now Fabrizio Romano claims he is closing in on a move.

Kepa has already travelled to the south coast for a medical.

And he will remain at the Vitality Stadium on loan until next July.

Ahead of his move to Bournemouth, the 29-year-old has penned a new two-year deal with Chelsea.

His contract with the Blues was due to expire at the end of this season, meaning he likely would have left on a free transfer if he didn’t agree to fresh terms.

Kepa joined Chelsea in a £72.6million transfer from Athletic Bilbao in 2018 and remains the world’s most expensive goalkeeper.

However, he continues to fall down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge.

The Spaniard has not been given a squad number for this season by new manager Enzo Maresca.

And he was recently exiled from the first team altogether, becoming a member of Chelsea’s so-called ‘bomb squad’ – a group of players training separately on unused training pitches at the club’s Surrey base.

Other senior stars including Raheem SterlingBen Chilwell and Trevoh Chalobah have also been told they have no future at Chelsea.

Kepa has made just 108 appearances for Chelsea in six years since joining.

He spent last season on loan at Real Madrid but was limited to just 20 appearances.
