KHAMZAT CHIIMAEV has dropped a cryptic hint that he could return at UFC 300.

The undefeated Russian hasn’t set foot inside the octagon since his short-notice showdown with former welterweight king Kamaru Usman at UFC 294 last October.

MMA fans around the world are wondering when the undefeated Russian wrecking machine will next be back in the cage.

And the Chechen clubber has seemingly hinted he could be back in action on the UFC’s historic April pay-per-view.

The 29-year-old shared a menacing photo of himself in training to his Instagram story on Wednesday night with “300” spaced out.

The post sent fans into a frenzy, with one saying: “HES BACK.”

Another said: “Khamzat Chimaev is hinting at a UFC 300 return.”

And another said: “Khamzat Chimaev will definitely be announcing some fight news sometime soon.”

One remarked: “He won’t be on the card, but if he was he should be fighting [Israel] Adesanya.”

UFC 300 – which is rumoured to have three title fights – will take place at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena on April 13.

UFC bigwig Dana White has vowed to make UFC 300 one of the best cards in the promotion’s history[/caption]

UFC president and CEO Dana White announced an epic bout between fan favourites Justin Gaethje and Max Holloway for the BMF title yesterday morning – hours before Chimaev’s tease.

And the booking was very much in line with his plans to make the card top UFC 100 and 200 respectively.

He told SunSpor after UFC 296: “Well think about tonight and the buzz and the energy about tonight’s card.

“And think about the stuff I’m telling you guys about Miami.

“So we’ve got to beat this, Miami and a bunch of other great cards that are going to happen this year.

“I don’t remember who I was talking to, but the way I see UFC 300 is when it comes people are going to be going, ‘Holy S**T!

“That’s the first prelim of the night?’ That’s what UFC 300 is going to be?”
