KIERAN TRIPPIER’S move to Bayern Munich is OFF for now after the Germans failed to meet Newcastle’s demands.

The Magpies rejected Bayern’s £12.8million bid for the England right-back on Tuesday.

And at present the Bavarians are not expected to come back with an improved offer for the 33-year-old.

While not agitating for a move, it is believed that Trippier was keen on linking up with former Tottenham pals Harry Kane and Eric Dier in the Bundesliga.

Newcastle have insisted they do not want to sell their talisman but a bid north of £15m could have been too good to turn down for a player turning 34 this year.

The Geordies need to sell to buy to navigate Financial Fair Play rules but boss Eddie Howe was desperate to keep Trippier.

He has been instrumental in transforming the Tynesiders’ fortunes since arriving for £12m in January 2022.

And while his form dropped off a cliff during December having played a pivotal role in Newcastle qualifying for the Champions League last summer, Howe believes he still has a couple of seasons left in him.

The full-back led the Toon to a fourth-placed finish last term as well as qualification to Europe’s elite competition for the first time since the 2002-2003 season.

The England international has so far amassed a total of three goals and 18 assists in 81 appearances.

Nevertheless, Newcastle could still lose some instrumental players amid reports they have agreed a shock deal to let Miguel Almiron leave for Al-Shabab in Saudi Arabia.

AC Milan are also ready to submit a bid to land Callum Wilson on a permanent deal.

Wilson appears keen on a switch to Milan where he would link up with fellow England internationals Fikayo Tomori and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
