According to Le Monde, Mbappe refused to activate a one-year contract extension before July 31, which prevented him from collecting an additional £173m.

Mbappe has remained in communication with PSG and he held talks with PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi today.

But that has not prevented the French giants from reportedly barring the superstar from first-team training.

It is believed Mbappe will be part of a “loft” training group consisting of other outcasts while his contract stand-off rumbles on.

PSG have even removed a giant mural at the Parc des Princes and stopped selling his shirts as he trains with the B team.

But reports claim talks between Mbappe and Al-Khelaifi yielded a positive outcome for the club, with the forward deciding to stay put – for this summer at least.

However the 2018 World Cup winner has not changed his stance on wanting to leave the club next year, when his contract expires.

Real Madrid remain favourites to land Mbappe despite a reported offer of an incredible £11.6m a week by Saudi club Al-Hilal.

PSG are said to have offered Mbappe a new deal which includes a guaranteed sale clause at the end of the 2023/24 campaign.

This has been rejected by the France captain.
