Mbappe, 24, is a top target for Real Madrid, however, the club are yet to make an official move for him this summer.

PSG does not want to lose the forward on a free transfer next year but could be facing that prospect after his face-to-face talks with Al-Khelaifi.

According to Le Parisien, the duo spoke at PSG’s training centre the Poissy Campus.

It claims that Mbappe has insisted that he has not changed his stance since he publically stated that his “only option at the moment” is to stay at PSG.

The conversation has been labelled as “lively” with Mbappe currently exiled from the team due to the ongoing uncertainty over his future.

PSG have even removed a giant mural at the Parc des Princes and stopped selling his shirts as he trains with the B team.

PSG want at least £250million for the France striker and Real remain strong favourites to sign him, despite a reported offer of an incredible £11.6m a week by Saudi club Al-Hilal.

However, Mbappe has suggested that he could stay at the Ligue 1 champions until his contract expires next summer.

This could then see him make the move to Real on a free transfer, saving them a massive fee should they move for him this year.

PSG are said to have offered Mbappe a new deal which includes a guaranteed sale clause at the end of the 2023/24 campaign.

This has been rejected by the France captain.

Mbappe is PSG’s all-time top scorer with 212 goals in 260 appearances.

He has also contributed 98 assists.

Meanwhile, PSG appear to be preparing for life without Mbappe as they close in on a £69m deal for Benfica and Portugal attacker Goncalo Ramos.
