An urgent hunt was launched to try and find the young girl after fears for her safety grew as she was last seen getting into a dark car.

Her mother, Sarah, has now issued a fresh plea as she desperately tries to find her young daughter, who has now been missing for three days.

Sarah, said: “Please come home, you’re not in trouble. We all miss you, your brothers and sisters miss you.”

“Just please let us know where you are.”

Sarah said she just wants to know that her daughter is OK.

She added: “She’s a kind, caring, loving little girl who loves to help with her brothers and sisters.

“Just a heart of gold really.”

Insp Simon Garrett, of Wiltshire Police, said “We would like to make a direct appeal to Leah that she gets in touch straight away. She’s not in trouble.

“Our priority is determining that she is safe and well. We are doing all we can to find her.

“We are extremely concerned for Leah due to her age and would ask anyone who knows where she is or hears from her to contact us on 101.”

A group of around 30 locals met at 9am to start a three-hour search for Leah this morning.

Ellen North, said “When you’re in a rural area with less CCTV, the more ground people can cover the better.

“Everyone is talking about it locally and just trying to get the word out on social media.”

Neighbour Dawn Gibbings, said “We are such a tight-knit community, we feel like we need to do something so we’re staying positive and doing what we can.

“Everyone’s worried about a missing child.

“The police have been brilliant. We hope Leah knows we just want to make sure she’s safe.”

Helen Fisk, said: “I just want to help. It’s terrible what’s happened.”

In a family statement, Sarah said: “This is an appeal to safely locate my daughter, Leah Mullins.

“Leah is a 14-year-old, vulnerable girl who has been away from her family for nearly 48 hours. If anyone has any suspicions, please contact 999.

“Leah if you can see this, then please come home, or contact someone and let them know that you are safe and well.

“We miss you and love you so much. You are not in any trouble and we are extremely concerned about you.

“If you are not able to contact us, please go and seek help.”

It is believed Leah may have got into a car near the Angel Pub on Sherston High Street after being seen next to one.

She was wearing a pair of blue fleece shorts and a white Bambi t-shirt. She is not wearing a coat and has blonde hair worn loose.

Detective Superintendent Darren Hannant said: “We are increasingly concerned for Leah’s safety and need anyone with information to get in touch with us as soon as possible.

“We are following a number of lines of enquiry to try to locate her.

“I’d like to thank all of those who have shared our appeal and have phoned in with information.

“Leah, if you are reading this message, please get in touch with the police or your mum.  You are not in any trouble. We just want to make sure that you are safe.”
