LISTOWEL races have been suspended after a racegoer suffered a medical emergency.
The event had already been disrupted due to the adverse weather.
The races were suspended as a racegoer needed treatment from the emergency services.
It is believed that a course ambulance was attending to them.
This was then followed by the arrival of an air ambulance arriving to provide aid.
As a result, the horses were delayed in making their way into the parade ring.
Fans have reacted on social media, and many have sent well wishes to the racegoer.
One posted: “Hopefully they are all okay.”
A second wrote: “All thoughts and prayers for the racegoer.”
A third commented: “Really hope the person is okay.”
The racing was delayed as a result of the incident with the last one taking place at 4.05pm.
The race scheduled for 4.37pm was pushed back.
Racing TV host Tom Stanley said: “We are in the dark as to what the prospect of racing again looks like.”
