LIVERPOOL boss Jurgen Klopp reportedly has a NINE-MAN shortlist of potential midfield targets.

The Reds are currently undergoing a huge revamp with James Milner, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain having all departed already after their contracts expired last month.

Brazilian Fabinho, 29, looks set for a £40million transfer to Saudi Pro-League side Al-Ittihad.

And Jordan Henderson is poised to become the first England star to take the money and run to the Saudi Pro League.

He is set to sign for Al-Ettifaq on a whopping £108m three-year contract after Liverpool agreed a £12m transfer deal plus add-ons for their captain.

Liverpool have already recruited in the middle with the signings of Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai.

We previously reported how Klopp had drawn-up a list of four potential new recruits – although it was claimed Brighton’s Moises Caicedo was not among them.

The names mentioned then were Sofyan Amrabat, Ryan Gravenberch, Kalvin Phillips and Romeo Lavia.

The 26-year-old Amrabat is a man in demand this summer with several clubs keen on snapping him up, including Manchester United.

Amrabat’s agent recently revealed that Fiorentina are open to the idea of letting the Moroccan go, but only if a suitable offer is received.

Dutch midfielder Gravenberch, 21, had been linked with several Premier League clubs after a difficult debut season with Bayern Munich.

After completing a £16m move from Ajax last summer, Gravenberch scored once in 33 appearances across all competitions.

However, he was limited to just three league starts as he failed to establish himself under both Julian Nagelsmann and Thomas Tuchel.

Despite his underwhelming debut season, though, Gravenberch has revealed his determination to stay and fight for his place.

Phillips joined Man City for over £40m last summer but injuries and fitness issues limited him to just two league starts.

Although Pep Guardiola’s side won the treble, Phillips played just 21 times across all competitions for a combined 593 minutes and West Ham have also been linked with an interest in him.

Meanwhile Lavia, 19, left City for Southampton 12 months ago for £12.5m.

And despite their relegation to the Championship, he had a fine season with 34 appearances in all competitions.

Now the Daily Mail has back up those claims that all four are on Klopp’s wanted list – but they also named FOUR other players he is eyeing up.

Crystal Palace are “bracing themselves” for the Reds making an approach for Cheick Doucoure, 24.

The Eagles, who bought him from Lens from £18m last summer, want to keep the star but “are likely to find it difficult to refuse a £70m offer”.

Aurelien Tchouameni, who opted for an £85m switch to Real Madrid last year instead of Anfield, is another name linked.

The 23-year-old French star played 50 times last season but Jude Bellingham’s arrival has cast doubt on his Bernabeu future.

However, he did like a tweet last week that read: “Tchouameni is NOT FOR SALE. You understand? @Liverpool.”

Fulham’s Joao Palhinha, who has been linked with West Ham, is also mentioned.

The Portuguese international, 28, is mooted as a potential name to fill the defensive midfield role left by Fabinho.

Khephren Thuram is the last name touted, the Nice star who is the son of French legend Lillian Thuram, with a fee of around £52m previously mentioned for the 22-year-old defensive midfielder.

The L’Equipe have also claimed that the Reds want Paris Saint-Germain’s Marco Verratti and that they are one of two Premier League clubs who have been in contact with the French side over the Italian international.

PSG are happy to sell the 30-year-old, who is under contract until 2026, but they want at least £69m for him.

Verratti has made 416 appearances for PSG since joining the club in 2012 from Pescara.
