LIVERPOOL are reportedly leading the race to sign Monaco star Aurelien Tchouameni this summer.
Julien Maynard claims Jurgen Klopp’s side are in pole position to land the France international in a mega-money coup.
That’s despite interest from European heavyweights Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain, as well as Premier League rivals Manchester United and Arsenal.
Tchouameni, 22, has been in terrific form this season, scoring five goals in 48 games for Monaco.
The tenacious midfielder has also become a regular in Didier Deschamps’ international XI.
And Tchouameni is seen by many as a future global superstar.
He has attracted interest from across the continent as a result.
But it’s Liverpool who are frontrunners for Tchouameni’s signature.
Jordan Henderson and Thiago Alcantara are both entering their golden years.
And the Reds are keen on landing a quality player to ease straight into the side, just like Luis Diaz in attack.

Tchouameni’s camp are still said to be weighing up their options after receiving offers from some of the continent’s top clubs.
But Liverpool are at the front of the queue for now, with fellow Champions League finalists Real Madrid close behind.
PSG are also keen, although Tchouameni is not expected to remain in Ligue 1.
Man United and Arsenal would also love to bring the dynamic playmaker to England.
However, both sides are years behind Liverpool, who also have the added bonus of securing boss Klopp’s future until 2026.
