LIVERPOOL hope to make £10million-plus from a fly-on-the-wall documentary of manager Jurgen Klopp’s farewell season.

The Reds expect a bidding war between Disney+, Netflix and other streaming outlets for the series.

Film-makers Lorton Entertainment hit the jackpot as they had no idea Klopp would quit when they began making it in December.

The London-based production company’s initial bid was much lower than the offer from Amazon’s All or Nothing team that made similar series about Tottenham and Arsenal.

But Klopp was unwilling to give Amazon the kind of access they wanted to justify their premium fee.

Now, the Merseysiders stand to make a similar amount to the North London rivals after Klopp’s bombshell news.

Amazon could even end up paying big money to show what they missed out on producing.

A source said: “Lorton really did get lucky with the timing of this.

“They’ve captured all of the reaction to Jurgen’s shock announcement and the raw emotion inside the club when the news broke — including from the players.

“The reaction from people like Virgil van Dijk is likely to feature.

“Curtis Jones had his team-mates laughing, saying it had taken five years for him to get Jurgen to like him and now, when he’s got a regular first-team place, he decides to leave.”

Liverpool chiefs were open to a documentary because delays in completing the Anfield Road Stand left a hole in their budget.

Klopp eventually gave the green light for the less-intrusive storytelling-based approach of Lorton.

That was in October, a month BEFORE he told owners Fenway Sports Group he was quitting.

The film crew have been a regular presence at Anfield and the Melwood training ground, spending time with the players away from the club, including in their homes.
