Lord’s members ‘KICKED and touched’ Aussie stars as cheat storm boiled over, says Australia wag in incredible new claims

SENSATIONAL new claims suggest that Lord’s members “kicked” Aussie cricketers in the wake of Jonny Bairstow’s controversial stumping.

Lord’s members were furious after Bairstow’s dismissal – when he was stumped by Alex Carey after leaving his crease at the end of the over.

The Australian team arrived to a chorus of boos and abuse from Lord’s members with many chanting that the team were “cheats”.

And David Warner‘s wife, Candice has now claimed in an interview with FOX Sports’ The Back Page that the verbal abuse turned physical.

She said: “It wasn’t just those images [where Warner and Khawaja confronted MCC members before security intervened],

“It continued up two flights of stairs to the change room and two more flights of stairs up to where the boys were having lunch.

“You don’t want to see that anywhere. There were some players who actually were touched, were kicked. Usman Khawaja was really upset at what was directed at him as well.

‘”Jonny got up and had a few words, David had a few words back at him,’ she said of a confrontation between Bairstow and her husband at lunch.

“That whole Test was pretty grubby to be completely honest. It was very disappointing, even after the game when the supporters stuck around.

“There were players like Starcy [Mitchell Starc] and Pat Cummins trying to do their media, the vile abuse kept going.”

The Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) was moved to suspend three members after the altercation.

In a statement, they said: “MCC can confirm it has suspended three members identified from earlier today.

“They will not be permitted back to Lord’s whilst the investigation takes place and were informed of this by MCC chief executive, Guy Lavender, this evening.

“We maintain that the behaviour of a small number of members was completely unacceptable and whilst there was no suggestion by Pat Cummins in the post-match press conference that there was any physical altercation, it remains wholly unacceptable to behave in such a way, which goes against the values of the club.

“MCC condemns the behaviour witnessed and once again we re-iterate our apology to Cricket Australia.”
