LOVE rat boxer Amir Khan and his wife Faryal were apparently rejected for a BBC show due to their marriage woes.

Producers on Celebrity Antiques Road Trip were concerned about how the “current status” of their relationship would affect them on-screen.

They were turned down for the show – narrated by Tim Wonnacott – last Friday.

It came weeks after The Sun on Sunday revealed Amir, 36, had been sexting bridal model Sumaira, 25, begging her to send him saucy pictures.

And our fresh revelation comes after we told today how Amir and Faryal’s reality show Meet The Khans: Big In Bolton was put on ice amid fresh claims Amir cheated on her.

A source said: “BBC producers are aware of the troubles Amir and Faryal are going through in their relationship, and so decided against booking them for the show.”

Former two-time world boxing champ Amir‘s ten-year marriage to 32-year-old Faryal – the mum of his three kids – has been dogged by cheating scandals and the pair are now reported to be living apart.

Their relationship appears to have hit its lowest point, with both of them seen not wearing their wedding rings in recent days.

At the weekend, The Sun on Sunday told how a woman – who wants to remain anonymous – claimed she slept with Bolton-born Amir in a hotel last year.

The woman said she met the star numerous times during a four-month fling, claiming Amir told her his marriage was “on the rocks”.

She says she later received a phone call from Faryal after she found out about the affair – with the model threatening to “name and shame” her husband’s lover.

Khan had messaged the woman on Instagram in February after she viewed his profile.

Last week it was claimed that Amir and Faryal are living separately but co-parenting their kids.

The couple were said to be splitting their time between homes in Dubai and the UK.

Faryal is now reported to be “taking time to think about whether or not to walk away”.

In an Instagram post on Friday night, Faryal said: “Fall in love with someone who doesn’t make you think love is hard.”

She then re-posted a poem called July by Heba Nasar to her story.

It reads: “Just like a book, I hope the second half writes a perfect tale where all loose ends find their place.”

The couple were introduced by mutual friends at a New York restaurant in 2011 and got married two years later.

The BBC and a rep for Amir were approached for comment.
