LUIS SUAREZ waved goodbye to Gremio fans after scoring the winner ahead of his proposed Inter Miami transfer.

The ex-Liverpool star is set to make a move from Brazil to America to join old Barca team-mate Lionel Messi.

The 36-year-old Uruguayan international announced his departure from the club last week and is now a free agent.

In his last home game for Gremio, he went out in style and scored the only goal in a 1-0 win against Vasco da Gama on Sunday night.

Transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano confirmed the details of Suarez’s new deal at Inter Miami after the game.

He tweeted: “Luis Suarez said goodbye to Gremio fans… and he’s now set to fix the final details of his contract to become the new Inter Miami player.

“Deal will be valid for one year, also considering an option for further season.”

The forward was given a big send-off from both his team-mates and supporters on Sunday, in a sold-out stadium.

Suarez was joined on the pitch by his wife and children – sons Benjamin and Lauti and daughter Delfina.

The ex-Barca star still has one more game to play against Fluminense before he parts ways with the Brazilian side.

But Suarez hinted his professional career could be approaching its end.

He said: “I can feel pain, my body is speaking for me. I want to enjoy and then decide for myself after a long career.

“I need to rest, enjoy my family… then destiny will know where I’ll be in the future.”

The veteran scored 27 goals in 52 appearances during his time at Gremio.

Suarez had a glittering career after moving to Europe in 2007, scoring 111 goals in 159 appearances for Ajax and winning the Dutch league once before moving to Liverpool in 2010.

His career then hit another level at Anfield as he became one of the best strikers in European football.

The forward bagged 82 goals in just 132 appearances and led the Reds to the brink of their first league title in 24 years in 2014.

He then went on to win it all with Barca, securing four La Liga titles, four Copa Del Ray’s and a Champions League during his six years at the club.
