JERMAINE JENAS has revealed that his former Spurs teammate Luka Modric couldn’t hack his first night out at Tottenham.

The retired pro-turned-pundit even claimed that the Ballon d’Or winner PASSED OUT in a toilet cubicle.

Jenas, who spent four of his seven years at Tottenham playing with Modric, was speaking on That Peter Crouch Podcast when he told the unbelievable story.

The 41-year-old explained that he and his Spurs teammates had managed to convinced the manager to let them have a night out together after a gruelling pre-season training camp.

And the squad were heading out for drinks for the first time since Modric and a number of other new singings had joined the then White Hart Lane outfit.

He said: “We had a night out and it’s the first time you get to see a glimpse into who they [new signings] are as people.

“Oh my god. He went on one Luka [Modric]. All the Croatian boys were class to be fair, but they LOVED a drink.

“Anyway I get a tap on the shoulder, not even late, about 10pm going ‘J, we need your help’.

“I’ve gone into some cubical and Luka is basically sleeping by the toilet and his Rolex has come flying off his wrist and I’ve had to go grab that.

“In the end the bouncer just stuck him on his shoulder and we all took him home and put him to bed.”

The crazy tale seems a long way from the quiet and reserved personality fans are used to seeing from Modric.

The Real Madrid star has been known for his collected and considered approach on the pitch – a world away from what it seems he was like in the pub back in the day.

Modric spent four seasons in north London with Spurs where he made 160 appearances for the club.

But it was his move to Real Madrid that cemented his legacy in football with the Croatian making over 500 appearances for Los Blancos since he signed in 2012.
