LUKE LITTLER has revealed he is taking backstage tips from legends he has already surpassed in one incredible way.
The Warrington whizkid, 16, has become the youngest player ever to reach the last 16 of the Darts World Championship.
Phil Taylor has urged Littler not to get distracted[/caption] Michael van Gerwen has also given encouragement to young rival Littler[/caption]And amid such startling fame so young, he is keen to take advice from those who have tasted the greatest success.
All-time great Phil Taylor, 63, a 16-time world champ, and triple title holder Michael van Gerwen, 34, are amongst icons giving Luke the Nuke a word in the ear to keep him a wonder at the oche.
Littler told Sky Sports: “I’ve spoken to him [Taylor] in the hotel and him and Michael van Gerwen have been saying ‘keep it up’ and ‘keep your head focussed’.
“That’s all I’ve tried to do, keep level-headed.”
Littler’s celebration habits certainly suggest he is not getting too lofty.
Known for heading out for a kebab, he switched to a McDonald’s after beating Canadian Matt Campbell 4-1 in the third round at the Ally Pally
Littler next faces Raymond van Barneveld or Jim Williams on Saturday.
He has picked up £35,000 following his three wins so far.
