Paddy Power’s Ballon d’Art trophy – rewarded for most 180s thrown

Bookies Paddy Power this year launched the Ballon d’Art – a trophy rewarded for most 180s thrown.

Paddy Power will donate £1,000 to Prostate Cancer UK for every maximum hit during the three week campaign.

Currently, Littler and Humphries are neck and neck with 50.

So a brand new trophy will also be awarded to the man who wins the Ballon d’Art later this evening.

It means, theoretically even the loser of the final could still walk away with a trophy depending on their accuracy.

And amazingly, it will not be the first time the two have played each other.

Because an incredible picture has emerged on 16-year-old Littler’s social media of the pair actually posing together for a picture.

In the November 2019 snap, Littler – 12 at the times – smiles alongside a 24-year-old Humphres, who is now 28.

Littler wrote at the time: “Lost out in quarter-finals last night at Hayling Island competition to Luke Humphries missed a few chances to go ahead and a bull for a 164 but gave him a great game.”

The winner in this week’s final will pocket £500,000… and the title of world champion.

But the loser will still grab a cool £200k.
