LUKE LITTLER “got a bit slack” in his Premier League defeat to Michael Smith, according to ex-world champ Mark Webster.
The teen sensation dropped out of the top four in the standings after losing 6-4 to ‘Bully Boy’ in Dublin on Thursday night.
Littler, 17, has produced so many sensational moments this year that his below par performance was completely out of character.
Sky Sports pundit Webster said: “He got 3-1 up and Michael Smith blew him away.
“He got a bit slack and he was working on his technique a bit in legs. It just didn’t happen for him there.
“He can’t dwell on that. He’s still in a great position and go again next week.
“He’ll be disappointed with the fact he was 3-1 up. He regroups in Belfast.”
Webster was also quick to praise Littler’s incredible past three months of form.
The Warrington wonderkid has won on his debut in the World Series, ProTour and EuroTour – hitting perfect legs on every occasion.
He added: “We are at the halfway stage and Luke has been a brilliant addition to the Premier League.

“He has taken everything in his stride. He’s won a ProTour, he’s won a EuroTour all that is left to do is to win one of these nights.
“I am surprised he’s only reached one final. That’s the standard he has set himself.
“He is ticking over points nicely. He’s well on the way to the play-offs.
“The guide for qualification is 24 or 25 points. Nightly wins might come into it, so he might need one. I’m sure he will.
“He’ll be satisfied how the Premier League is going and how his career is going.
“He’s already qualified for the Matchplay and he’s just got to get himself a nightly win which I’m sure is not far away.”
