LUKE LITTLER stunned Good Morning Britain hosts Susanna Reid and Ben Shephard by revealing how he little he practices darts.

His dream of becoming world champion, however, was crushed by Luke Humphries on Wednesday night.

Despite missing out on the Sid Waddell trophy, Littler has well and truly become a star.

Darts fans casual and avid have been wondering how a teenager can compete with some of the best players in the world, including GMB hosts Reid and Shepherd.

Littler told the duo on Thursday: “Believe it or not, [I only practice] half an hour [to] 45 minutes.”

Shephard was left stunned, asking: “An hour [to] 45 minutes?”

Littler replied: “I just practice on my own, it gets boring.”

As with many kids his age, Littler often finds himself distracted by video games.

He admitted: “I’m just bored and my Xbox is next to me. There is a board there, so I just go on my Xbox.”

Littler was disappointed to have missed out on PDC glory but believes the whirlwind experience will put him in good stead in tournaments to come.

He said: “I have gained a lot of experience. A lot of people know me now, they look up to me, I am just happy.

“I am happy with getting to the final. It has been a rollercoaster these past 3-4 weeks.

“I am disappointed with losing a lot of legs when I threw first. Those are the only negatives. I will take all these experiences.

“It has been unbelievable, I just wanted to win one game and come back after Christmas.

“Those are the only goals I set. It’s a massive bonus.

“It has sunk in, no one likes losing, to lose on that stage, I cannot be angry at myself. I lost of legs with my throw.

“It has been crazy, whatever support I can get I will take on board.

“I have won 5-6 games, why cannot I win another seven in years to come at this tournament.

“This has been a good tournament, I have gained a lot of experience, I am in the top 32. It’s another busy year ahead.

“It’s my first year on the Tour. The last 3-4 weeks have been unbelievable. I cannot wait to go home.

“If they want to be scared, they can be. I have to eat what is front of me, I couldn’t do that tonight.

“I have caught lots of people attention. People who like football and are now into the darts.

“I want to try and win every game I can on the Tour.

“I hope I have capture lots of young people’s minds to try it on the board. I would advise them to try it as it’s a good sport.

“I have to be myself, be the Luke Littler I have been for the past 3-4 weeks.

“It’s crazy, the support I have had.

“It has changed me a lot. Now I have broken into top 32. I have a bit of money now. Everything will help me now.

“Even though it’s a losing start to the year, it’s a good start.

“To young players, just practice, if you are watching at home, get a board and try to be like me.”
