Littler faced Alan Soutar in the first round this afternoon and the Scot lost in agonising fashion.

He hit an incredible nine-darter to go 5-4 up before eventually suffering a 6-5 deciding leg defeat.

The Nuke averaged a whopping 107 in the game against the world No56.

Littler now faces Dom Taylor in round two before a potential clash against Jermaine Wattimena.

Taylor recently hit the headlines after testing positive for drugs and being banned from the World Championships.

But after serving a one-month ban as they were not performance enhancing, Taylor has returned to competitive action.

Soutar was not the only player to have a dream leg this afternoon as Luke Humphries also achieved perfection.
