Littler saw off a spirited fight back from Wade to book his place in the last 32 at Butlin’s in Minehead.

The Nuke had raced into a commanding lead, thanks in part to a stunning 170 checkout in the seventh leg.

As has become expected, he whipped out his fishing celebration after reeling in the monster checkout.

The ITV cameras quickly panned to Wade for his reaction and the Machine did not disappoint.

He turned to the camera and raised his eyebrow in response to Littler’s stunning finish.

Viewers were left in hysterics on social media, with one commenting: “Loved the expression on Wade face.”

Another viewer exclaimed: “What a man!”

Others also appreciated Littler’s theatrics as they wrote: “So much time for this Littler big fish cele.”

One more fan agreed, as they added: “Might be up there with the greatest mini celebrations in sport this, reel it in son.”

Littler’s win also saw him avenge his defeat to Wade in the Players Championship.

He is now into the last 32 for the first time, having exited in round four on his UK Open debut last year.

Littler will take on Martin Schindler on Saturday after the German beat Gerwyn Price in a thrilling fourth round clash.

Michael van Gerwen will not be joining him, though, after losing to Mensur Suljovic earlier on the main stage.

Reigning champion Andrew Gilding advanced, though, as he kickstarted his title defence.

World number one and world champion Luke Humphries is also safely through after he beat Dirk van Duijvenbode 10-7.
