LUKE LITTLER claims he has found a new good luck charm after his maiden Premier League triumph.
Littler, 17, defeated Nathan Aspinall in the Prem final with a score of 6-4 on Friday to move up to second place in the table with only four points separating him from leader Luke Humphries.
It took the Nuke nine attempts to finally win a nightly title and it seems like a new pre-match ritual may have played an important role behind his success.
The Warrington star revealed he had a “good practice game” with Rob Cross before the final.
The two darts stars averaged over 100 and that fired the teenage sensation up for his clash with Aspinall.
Littler told Sky Sports: “I had a good practice game with Rob Cross before we came out tonight.
“We both had over 100 averages. I said to Rob, ‘Cheers for the game!’ It got me up for it.
“I practiced well, and I’m glad I brought it on here.”
When asked by presenter Emma Paton about whether he’d have to repeat the ritual every week, he responded: “Yeah!”
Littler continued: “I’m just glad to win it, and obviously against a good friend in Nathan.
“That’s all I’ve got to do [enjoy my darts] – if you’re not enjoying it, you won’t perform.
“If you’re not enjoying it, you’re not going to play well. I can’t wait for next week in Manchester.
“I know I’ve got Michael van Gerwen next week in the first round, it’s close to my home and I can’t wait.”
