DARTS revelation Luke Littler could earn almost £400,000 from social media, according to new data.

Littler, 16, made it all the way to the final of the PDC darts world championship before he was defeated by world No.1 Luke Humphries in the final last Wednesday.

Despite missing out on the £500,000 jackpot for winning the tournament, “The Nuke” still bagged a cool £200,000.

However, Littler saw these winnings cut almost in half by the tax man as HMRC took a 45 per cent [£83,000] share of his winnings due to income tax.

And while Littler’s fans were left furious at the move, it seems his newfound popularity will more than make up the deficit.

It comes after AceOdds revealed Littler’s earning potential from Instagram following the sharp rise in his follower count.

At the beginning of the PDC Darts World Championship Littler had around 34,000 followers.

But his remarkable performance at Alexandra Palace has led to him now having nearly a million followers, an increase of 2903 per cent.

His explosive rise in popularity has also seen his earning potential rise exponentially, with Littler now possessing an estimated earning potential of over £392,000.

However, as his follower count continues to rise so too does his earning potential from social media.

There is even the chance for Littler to earn a whopping £40million from brand deals by 2044.

Littler’s popularity isn’t restricted to himself either.

Google searches for Ally Pally tickets increased by more than 73 per cent thanks to the historic run.

And there was also record viewership for the final with a total audience viewing figure of 4.8 million, making it the most watched non-football event in Sky Sports history.
