Shaw appeared to have liked a post on Twitter quoting Patrice Evra saying it “will be tough” for the pair to return to the starting XI.

Shaw swiftly responded to one user who picked up the “like”.

He said: “Come on don’t be silly, obviously not intentional 🤦🏼‍♂️.”

Man Utd produced one of their best performances of the season against Chelsea with both Rasmus Hojlund and Alejandro Garnacho performing well.

Rashford and Martial were both on target in the 3-0 win over Everton before putting in poor showing against Newcastle and Galatasaray.

The duo were dropped to the bench for the match against Chelsea.

Rashford came on for Hojlund in the 84th minute to see out the game, while Martial remained on the bench.

Despite Rashford scoring 30 goals last season, 19-year-old Garnacho has made the position his own this season.
