MANCHESTER CITY have reportedly got a long list of potential suitors for outcast Kalvin Phillips.

The England international is looking for a way out of the Etihad stadium after a lack of game time since his move from Leeds United.

Phillips joined City back in 2022 in a £45million deal, but since arriving has only made TWO starts in the Premier League.

According to the Telegraph, six different clubs are eyeing a potential loan move for the 28-year-old this month.

Premier League sides Crystal Palace, West Ham and Newcastle are all said to be exploring a deal with the defensive midfielder.

While European giants Barcelona, Juventus and Atletico Madrid are also reportedly interested in rivalling the English trio.

It’s understood that Newcastle and Juventus were leading the race for Phillips’ signature, but have spent too long dwelling and allowed the others to have a shot at making the signing happen.

It has been reported that a decision on Phillips’ future is to be decided by next week.

And pressure could begin to build to get a deal done soon with just two weeks remaining of the January transfer window.

Staying in the Premier League could help Phillips secure a place in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for Euro 2024 this summer.

The Leeds lad has been a regular feature in almost all of Southgate’s Three Lions squads since he made his debut in 2020.

But no place is guaranteed in the national team with a major tournament on the horizon.

Crystal Palace would offer Phillips the chance to play regular football right under the nose of Southgate with Eagles boss Roy Hodgson making his interest clear.

The former Liverpool gaffer said: “He’s a good player. I would like to think that if Kalvin Phillips is available and a possibility for the club – there will be financial restrictions, who knows whether the club feels they will be able to afford that – if you’re talking about the level of player,

“I don’t feel there will be many managers who would not say: ‘Yeah, we will be really happy to have him come to the club.’

“As far as I’m concerned, it’s a name that’s out there. All we know, like most other clubs, is that there is a possibility that Man City will either sell him or loan him.

“If they are purely going to sell him, then I don’t think we will be in the market.

“If they’re going to loan him, I would like to think that we could possibly put our hand up and push ourselves forward.

“What we could then of course offer is the chance to play regular football in the Premiership in the build-up to what will be a very important summer for England and for him.”

It looks likely that a deal agreed this month for Phillips would be a loan move.

Although there could be offers that include buy options to make the move permanent in the summer.
