Man City starlet Carlos Borges quits club in permanent transfer to Ajax – and changes his NAME

MANCHESTER CITY starlet Carlos Borges has quit the club for a permanent transfer to Ajax.

And he’s shown he’s ready for a fresh start by changing his name.

Borges, 19, has penned a five-year deal with Ajax after completing his transfer on Thursday evening.

Ajax will pay City an initial £12million for the Premier League 2 Player of the Season.

That fee could rise to over £16m with add-ons.

And City have also inserted clauses entitling them to a sell-on fee, as well as giving them the option to re-sign Borges in the future.

In an interesting move, Ajax confirmed the Portuguese winger will now play under his first maternal name Forbs rather than paternal surname Borges.

The Dutch side moved quickly to wrap up a deal after the teen had looked set to join West Ham.

David Moyes was looking to complete a move for Borges before Ajax hijacked the deal on Monday.

And the former Sporting Lisbon ace will now line in Amsterdam as a replacement for Dusan Tadic.

The Serbian ripped up his contract after scoring 105 goals in five seasons.

And Tadic quickly penned a contract with Turkish outfit Fenerbahce.

He has since scored one goal in two outings, and Borges has big boots to fill in the Dutch capital.
