BOTH Manchester United and Chelsea are reportedly considering a swoop for Brentford striker Ivan Toney.
Toney has been heavily linked with a move away from the Gtech Community Stadium since returning from his betting ban.
Man Utd and Chelsea could explore a potential loan for Ivan Toney[/caption]Arsenal, Tottenham, West Ham, Chelsea and United are among the clubs that have already expressed an interest.
However, they have all been put off by his £60million price tag.
Brentford are still holding out for that figure, but the Blues and Man Utd could test the waters by proposing a loan.
The Independent claims both clubs could suggest a loan deal with an obligation to buy late in the window.
Toney’s contract with Brentford is set to expire next summer and he currently has no willingness to extend.
Therefore, Brentford will have to sell him within the next few weeks or in January if they want to earn any money for him.
A loan-to-buy deal would be a way for Brentford to earn a fee close to their valuation and allow potential Premier League suitors to comply with PSR rules.
The transfer format has already been used by the Bees in the sale of goalkeeper David Raya to Arsenal, which came to a total of £30m.
