MANCHESTER UNITED manager Erik ten Hag is the favourite with UK punters to be the first Premier League manager sacked this season, according to William Hill.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS handed Ten Hag a new contract over the summer after beating arch-rivals Manchester City last season’s FA Cup final.

But despite that, over 25% of bets placed with William Hill are for the Dutchman (8/1) to be fired first.
Chelsea coach Enzo Maresca is the 11/2 favourite to be the first manager in the English top flight to lose his job in the 2024-25 season, and the recently-appointed Italian has received 20% of bets placed.
Another manager tipped to be on the move is Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou – with 10% of bets placed. The Aussie is 16/1 in the betting markets.
Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps, said: “Manchester United finished eighth in the Premier League table last season and despite winning the FA Cup, our punters think boss Erik ten Hag will be the first manager to be shown the door in the upcoming campaign.
Man Utd boss Erik ten Hag is punters’ top pick to be first Premier League manager sacked this season[/caption]“Ten Hag is third-favourite to be sacked, priced at 8/1, and we’ve seen a quarter of all bets in the market placed on the Red Devils coach.
“Enzo Maresca is our 11/2 favourite, with 22% of all bets placed. Conversely, Eddie Howe is 7/1 in the sack race but our punters are backing the Newcastle manager to keep his job in the North East, with very little money coming in there.
“Ange Postecoglou’s odds of 16/1 have seen 10% of the bets placed in the market, while Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo (9/1) and Southampton coach Russell Martin (12/1) are also thought to be in trouble.”
