ERIK TEN HAG has been slammed for not bringing either Harry Kane or Declan Rice to Manchester United.
The struggling boss has failed to find a consistent rhythm during his second season at Old Trafford.
Erik ten Hag’s summer transfers for Man Utd have been questioned[/caption] United splashed the cash but didn’t move for either Declan Rice or Harry Kane[/caption]United sit eighth in the table with nine wins from 18 matches.
They have suffered some drubbings along the way, including home defeats to Bournemouth, Crystal Palace and Brighton.
United also crashed out of Europe after finishing bottom of their Champions League group this month.
And questions are now being asked about Ten Hag’s summer transfers.
The Dutchman spent £64million on striker Rasmus Hojlund, who is yet to break his league duck in 14 appearances.
Another £55m was paid out for injured midfielder Mason Mount.
And £43m was spent on calamity goalkeeper Andre Onana.
Meanwhile, world-class England internationals Kane and Rice were both on the move in the previous window.

Kane was signed by Bayern Munich from Tottenham for £82m.
And Arsenal snapped up Rice from West Ham for £100m.
Both have made an instant impact, with Kane netting 21 goals in 15 games as Rice leads his new side’s title charge.
And Tim Sherwood has now challenged Ten Hag’s decision to not sign either player.
He believes Kane and Rice could have gelled United’s rag-tag squad with their undoubted quality.
But Sherwood reckons the Red Devils can change their fortunes by getting rid of the manager.
He told Sky Sports: “I would have said two seasons ago that Tottenham needed a big clear out, but now they have a manager who is getting the best out of the individual players.
“They can’t all leave. They need to get rid of someone. What Tottenham did was change their manager, and the manager they brought in (Ange Postecoglou) has been the right answer.
“That’s what’s got to happen at Manchester United. They need to change the man who is not getting the best out of the individuals on the pitch.
“Why on Earth did they not push the boat out to sign Harry Kane?
“I know I sound like a broken record but players like Harry Kane and Declan Rice would have improved a lot of players at that football club and they would have made the manager look better as well.
“They have an idea of what they are doing on the pitch. These lot have just been thrown on the pitch, wherever they land, they just like to play. It’s not good enough.”
