MANCHESTER UNITED are reportedly looking to hijack a second transfer from AC Milan as they move to sign Monaco star Youssouf Fofana.
United are eager to bring in at least one new midfielder this summer having already wrapped up deals for Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro.
United are still interested in pursuing Youssouf Fofana despite his ongoing deal with AC Milan[/caption]AC Milan have already been left in the dust by United this summer, as Old Trafford chiefs beat them to the signature of Zirkzee.
Zirkzee had allegedly agreed personal terms with the San Siro before Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s men swooped in to nab him last month.
The 23-year-old subsequently signed a five-year deal with United after completing a £42.5million transfer from Serie A side Bologna.
And now reports in France claim United are also keen on Monaco star Fofana.
The 25-year-old midfielder has already agreed personal terms with AC Milan – but United’s interest could throw a spanner in the works.
A report from Get French Football News stated: “The France international is the subject of interest from both the Red Devils and the Rossoneri.
“However, Monaco are not willing to entertain any offers below the £29.5m mark for the former Strasbourg man.”
Like Zirkzee, Fofana has reportedly agreed to a four-year-deal with the Rossoneri but a transfer fee has not been confirmed.

Erik ten Hag is yet to add to his midfield, which was a major point of criticism last season.
The Red Devils have also been linked with Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi and Paris Saint Germain ace Manuel Ugarte.
Brazilian star Casemiro has been heavily linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League but a move is yet to materialise.
Meanwhile, McTominay has been linked with Fulham and Galatasaray.
On McTominay’s interest, Ten Hag said: “I think we have very good players so they’ll always have an interest from other clubs.
“If you score 10 goals in a season and perform very well for Scotland there will be an interest.
“We want to actually keep him because he’s a very important player for our squad.
“We’ve seen what he can contribute last season. When we had the sixes and he could play in a more advanced role, he’s a highly interesting player for our team.”
Elsewhere, Fofana was linked with a move to Old Trafford last year, but snubbed their advances in order to spend another year with Monaco.
He has 21 international caps for France and has one year left on his Monaco contract.
