CHEEKY Manchester United fans told Nottingham Forest to sign their unwanted outcast immediately – after they got battered 5-0 in pre-season.

Forest were thrashed by Stade Rennes at St George’s Park on Wednesday evening.

And that prompted some hilarious tweets from Red Devils supporters, imploring Steve Cooper’s side to upgrade his goalkeeper before starting their Premier League campaign at Arsenal next weekend.

The City Ground club have been linked with a transfer for United’s Dean Henderson this summer.

Henderson, 26, spent last season on loan with Forest but got injured, only making 18 Premier League appearances.

However, he is surplus to requirements at Old Trafford following Andre Onana’s big-money arrival and a reported falling out with boss Erik ten Hag.

Henderson also infuriated supporters by commenting “what a club, let’s go” on Anthony Elanga’s social media when the Sweden star signed for Forest.

Moreover, United want as much extra cash as possible to bring in further transfer targets such as Sofyan Amrabat.

So a few United supporters slid into the replies of Forest’s tweet announcing Amine Gouiri’s 88th-minute goal to make it 5-0 to Rennes, urging the East Midlanders to find a replacement stopper for American Ethan Horvath.

One said: “You know who wouldn’t concede five goals? Dean Henderson. Sign him ASAP.”

Another wrote: “Buy Deano quickly.”

A third added: “Do you know who wouldn’t concede five goals? This man! Pay the money,” followed by a Gif of Henderson.

And a final user simply replied with another Gif of the one-cap England international, who joined United from Carlisle in 2011 aged 14.

Should Forest fail to strike a deal with Henderson – who broke the world records for the fastest time to get a goalkeeper dressed and most headed passes in a minute – they could go after Matt Turner at Arsenal.

The back-up Gunners goalkeeper plays second fiddle to Aaron Ramsdale and with Mikel Arteta also chasing David Raya from Brentford, that would allow Turner to leave.
