FANS are convinced Manchester United dropped a major that Kobbie Mainoo is ready return from injury against Manchester City.

The Treble winners make the trip across town to Old Trafford tomorrow for the derby.

And just two nights before the fixture, Man Utd‘s Under-21 side drew 1-1 with Fulham.

But many supporters noticed that Mainoo was not in the the squad for the clash.

This comes after he had started their previous game on Tuesday, which was a 1-0 Youth Champions League defeat to Copenhagen.

It was the 18-year-old’s first appearance since hobbling off injured due to an ankle issue in a pre-season encounter with Real Madrid in July.

He has been back in training for several weeks and fans believe he might have finally made a full recovery as he eyes more first-team opportunities.

One supporter said: “No Mainoo. He is about to cook City.”

Another added: “Mainoo not here meaning he could be involved in the Manchester derby.”

More reacted: “No Mainoo, haha City watch out.”

A fourth wondered: “Mainoo not there interesting…”

There could be a spot for the midfielder amid some doubt over the fitness of Casemiro as he continues to nurse a minor ankle problem.

Meanwhile, Erik ten Hag already has Lisandro Martinez, Tyrell Malacia, Luke Shaw, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Amad Diallo all sidelined.
