MANCHESTER UNITED fans have demanded that Wayne Rooney’s son is given a contract at the club.

The calls have come after footage emerged of Kai, 14, online showing off his skills.

Kai is currently playing in the Red Devils youth academy and has shown promise in his matches.

The footage that has gone viral on social media shows the young forward practising his first touch and finishing.

Kai is able to put together a run of tidy finishes, although the challenge is made easier with the absence of a goalkeeper.

Despite there being no stopper, fans were impressed enough to demand the club offer Kai a professional deal.

One fan posted: “Left-footed Rooney means English Messi or another Foden regen.”

A second wrote: “We’re getting a left-footed Rooney 2.0? I’m up for it.”

A third commented: “Give him a contract already at United.”

A fourth said: “Kai Rooney and Amir Ibragimov aka Wayne Rooney and Carlos Tevez.”

A fifth exclaimed: “I genuinely cannot put into words how excited I am for this kid to come through.”

Another added: “This guy will be a better version of Haaland. Wait and watch.”

In January, Kai made his return from injury and was involved in a massive 6-0 win over Leeds.

He scored two goals and assisted twice, as he told followers on social media.

Last year, he netted in a cup final win over rivals Manchester City.

And fans even likened his chest control technique to that of his legendary father, who is Man Utd’s all-time leading goalscorer, the following month.

Kai is the eldest of Rooney’s four sons, with Klay, Kit and Cass his younger brothers.

He was signed to model for Puma back in 2022, despite his old man having always been a Nike athlete.

Kai wears Puma boots on the pitch, while he featured in their back-to-school campaign last summer.
