MANCHESTER UNITED fans are certain Bernardo Silva should have been sent off before his late equaliser in the Community Shield that ultimately led to Man City’s penalty success.
Silva picked up a yellow card just five minutes after entering the pitch, but United supporters are convinced it should have been a red.

And after just five minutes on the Wembley turf, the Portuguese playmaker left a late challenge on United’s goalscorer.
Silva was pressing Garnacho when he barged into the Argentine and left a leg in after he had got a pass away.
United fans were less than pleased with the foul, which was checked by VAR and deemed to only be a yellow card offence.

But after getting away with the late kick, Silva popped up in the box to nod home an equaliser just four minutes later.
The 30-year-old drifted into the area and got his noggin on the end of Oscar Bobb’s looping cross, levelling the scores with just one minute to play and ultimately forcing a penalty shootout.
Man Utd fans were seething that he was the man that had denied them a second consecutive Wembley win over their neighbours, citing his nasty foul as the reason he shouldn’t be on the pitch.
On social media, one wrote: “That should be a red card for Bernardo Silva!”

While another added: “Bernardo should be sent off for that. Clown”.
A third commented: “Not sure how Bernardo Silva wasn’t sent off there”.
And a fourth fumed: “Bernardo Silva with a dirty challenge – not for the first time, either. Should be sent off!”
It looked for all the world that Silva has been served instant karma during the penalty shootout after he missed his spot kick to give United the upper hand.
However, misses from Jadon Sancho and Jonny Evans saw City walk away with the season’s first piece of silverware – starting their campaign as they mean to go on.
