And he lived up to expectations, with a video showcasing the defender’s impressive press resistance and attacking drive during the game.
To which one fan said: “He’s going to be called upon so much this season with Shaw and Malacia.”
While another compared him to Shaw: “His control, runs, quick pass…..so much like Shaw!. Hope he doesn’t get loaned.”
A third then put: “Harry will play a part this season.”
And a fourth added: “The future is looking good.”
Amass can expect an ever-increasing role in the next two games as he and fellow youngster Sam Murray, 19, are the only two natural left-backs on the pre-season tour.
Shaw is still Ten Hag’s first choice but his injury worries and uncertainty over Tyrell Malacia means the field is wide open for Amass.

In August 2023 United confirmed they completed a four-year deal for the star from Watford.
And earlier this year he was called to first-team training with the Red Devils squad.
He got his first spot on the bench for United against Liverpool in April but did not play.
Ten Hag’s side next face Real Betis on July 31 before Amass takes on Arne Slot’s side in North Carolina on August 3.
