Cavani had spent a single season with the LaLiga side after being allowed to leave Manchester United on a free transfer in 2022.

During yesterday’s Argentine top flight clash with Belgrano, Cavani reminded fans of his talent by netting a 16-minute hat-trick.

With his side 1-0 down, the forward emphatically converted a penalty on 63 minutes.

He then put his side 2-1 up with a delicate chip six minutes later.

And on 79 minutes he completed his hat-trick by converting from close range.

Belgrano grabbed a goal back, but ultimately fell to a 3-2 defeat.

Complaining about Man Utd boss Erik ten Hag, one fan moaned: “For the starter, he had Ronaldo and Cavani but what did he do? Pushed them out.”

A second described Cavani as “my GOAT”.

Cavani joined Man Utd under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in 2020.

He went on to score 19 goals in 59 appearances for the Red Devils across two seasons.

It was confirmed in April 2022 that Ten Hag would be succeeding Solskjaer at the start of the following campaign.

Ahead of the final match of that season against Crystal Palace, interim boss Ralf Rangnick confirmed that Cavani would be leaving on a free transfer.

That August, the forward penned a two-year contract with Valencia.

After just one season in LaLiga, Cavani left the Mestalla to move to Boca.

He has since netted six times in 21 games.

Cavani plays alongside fellow ex-Man Utd stars Sergio Romero and Marcos Rojo at Boca.

The goalkeeper, 37, moved to the Argentine giants in 2022 following a season at Venezia, having brought his six-year stint at Old Trafford to a close in 2021.

Rojo went back home to Argentina in 2021 after seven inury hit years at United that saw him play just 122 games.

His woes seem to be continuing at Boca, having missed the last eight games with a calf tear.
