MANCHESTER UNITED have had a bid rejected by PSG for Manuel Ugarte, according to reports.
The Red Devils are keen to sign a central midfielder this summer.
Manuel Ugarte is wanted by Man Utd[/caption]It is one of three positions that are a priority to new chief Sir Jim Ratcliffe – along with a new centre-back and striker.
Ugarte, 23, is one of the midfielders on Man Utd‘s radar and L’Equipe claim they have seen an offer rejected.
It is believed that PSG do not want to sell after also recently turning down interest from Juventus.
The Parisians will not consider offers less than the £50million they paid for him.
And a move at this time could be complex as the player is currently away at the Copa America with Uruguay.
Ugarte has only been with PSG for one season, having made his switch from Sporting Lisbon last summer.
The defensive midfielder played 37 times last term and was dubbed a “revelation” by French media outlets.
And he fits Ratcliffe’s transfer requirements as he looks to sign players under the age of 25, who are not classed as Galacticos.

Joshua Zirkzee is the striker seemingly top of Man Utd’s wishlist and the club are reportedly ready to pay the Bologna star’s £34million release clause.
Meanwhile, Everton centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite is also wanted by Erik ten Hag.
However, United are yet to go back in with a second offer after an initial bid worth £35m was rejected.
