Man Utd in huge Harry Kane transfer boost as Spurs owner tells Levy he MUST sell star if huge new deal is rejected

MANCHESTER UNITED have been told they would have to pay Harry Kane a whopping £30million a year to sign him.

The £577,000-a-week salary would make Tottenham’s England captain by far the highest-paid player in the Premier League and smash the Red Devils’ wage structure.

United’s current top earner is Marcus Rashford, who earns £325,000 a week after signing a new deal.

Tottenham have offered Kane, 30, on Friday, a new £400,000-a-week contract, which the striker has not signed.

German champs Bayern Munich are also in the race to land him but have had  two offers of £60m and £70m turned down.

United began the summer with Kane their No 1 target.

And they were recently boosted to hear Spurs owner Joe Lewis does not want to let their 280-goal all-time top scorer run his deal down and leave on a free in a year.

But Old Trafford boss Erik ten Hag is keen to avoid one player earning considerably more than anyone else.

As it is, United need to generate any transfer fee from sales, due to Financial Fair Play restrictions after buying Mason Mount and Andre Onana for a total initial outlay of £98.8m.

Bayern are expected to make another Kane offer, while reports claim Saudis Al-Hilal are preparing a bid.

Spurs team-mate Son Heung-min, 31, said: “Harry is always professional.

“There’s so much news around but he’s captain and  working with the team. He doesn’t show any distraction.

“But I don’t know anything. Probably Harry doesn’t know. We just have to wait.”

Kane is also set to sign a new boot deal after his Nike contract was understood to have expired — he wore blacked-out boots as Spurs trained on Saturday in front of 6,000 fans in Bangkok.
