MANCHESTER UNITED are in negotiations to sell Donny van de Beek to Real Sociedad, according to reports.

The Dutchman has struggled to make an impact at Old Trafford since joining from Ajax in 2020.

He missed much of last season with a devastating knee injury.

But he returned to fitness in time to take part in United’s pre-season tour.

Van de Beek, 26, has featured in many of the Red Devils’ friendlies this summer, and scored the winning goal in their 1-0 triumph over Lyon in Edinburgh.

But with Bruno Fernandes still in his way and following the arrival of Mason Mount, the attacking midfielder’s first team prospects at Old Trafford likely remain limited.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Real Sociedad are interested in bringing Van de Beek to LaLiga.

He claims that negotiations are “ongoing” between the two clubs, with no agreement yet reached.

His report adds that Real Sociedad are also yet to agree personal terms with Van de Beek.

United are keen to clear room for a new midfield acquisition.

In addition to Van de Beek, Fred has been linked with a summer move away from Old Trafford.

The Brazilian has reportedly agreed terms with Turkish side Galatasaray.

Should he make the move, he will join up with former Crystal Palace talisman Wilfried Zaha, who left Selhurst Park to go to Turkey earlier this month.

After shifting some of their existing midfielders, United will try to sign Fiorentina ace Sofyan Amrabat.

The Moroccan impressed at last year’s World Cup, and has reportedly already snubbed interest from Liverpool in favour of joining United.
