MANCHESTER UNITED are furious about a social media video which they believe has made Bruno Fernandes a target.

Fulham posted a Tik Tok video to background comedy music of Fernandes going down injured before jumping up and playing on.

Fulham shared footage on TikTok that has left Erik ten Hag raging[/caption]

That was from Fulham’s 2-1 win at Old Trafford on Saturday.

They captioned it “so glad to see he is ok” and it soon got 43k likes.

The footage then spread across further platforms.

While United claim to not have a problem with Fulham specifically, they believe the spreading of the footage has caused problems for the player.

Erik ten Hag claimed following last night’s FA Cup victory over Nottingham Forest that the player does not feign injury but has a high pain threshold and in that game simply wanted to play on.

But he felt the Forest players specifically went for him on Wednesday night and that was a result of the social media video and subsequent criticism.

He said: “You saw that Forest was targeting him.

“There were many fouls on him. Maybe I am a little bit too tough but when he has the ball they were really tight on him.

“Then I see that serious media criticise him and social media is pathetic and it can’t be.

“He has a serious injury but he continued to play on Saturday and today he also fought to be part of the game and he has a very high pain threshold.”

Fernandes, who has won 18 fouls in the top-flight this season, the joint-111th most for any player in the league, went on to provide the assist for Casemiro against Forest.

That set up a quarter-final tie at home to bitter rivals Liverpool on the weekend on March 16.

However, Portuguese star Fernandes left the City Ground limping and he is now a serious doubt for Sunday’s Manchester derby at The Etihad.

Incredibly, the 29-year-old has only missed 13 matches for United since joining from Sporting LIsbon back in January 2020 – with NONE of those absences because of injury.

And he had only ever missed two games due to illness before that back in his homeland.

Fernandes has also only sat out two matches this term, missing the goalless draw at Liverpool due to suspension and then staying on the bench for the League Cup win over Crystal Palace.

However, his stunning record regarding injuries could now be in real jeopardy.
