The Norwegian tactician earned the full-time job at Old Trafford after a stint as interim manager in 2018.

However, despite a promising start the former striker, who enjoyed tremendous success with the Red Devils as a player, was axed after two-and-a-half seasons.

According to VG, Solskjaer was offered a return by former club Molde who wanted him to take over the dugout for the third time.

The Man Utd great’s coaching career kicked off in 2011 with the Norwegian giants after a stint in charge of the Manchester giants’ reserves.

Solskjaer then had a short spell in charge of Cardiff in 2014 before returning to Molde a year later and ultimately taking over United.

Molde chairman Leif-Arne Langoy called him in a bid to convince him to replace sacked manager Erling Moe.

However, Solskjaer is not interested in a third spell and turned the opportunity down.

This was not the first offer the ex-United boss rejects as he was also approached and asked to take over as Denmark’s head coach.

“I am a proud Norwegian and proud of where I come from.”
