MANCHESTER UNITED have reportedly “made contact” with Bayern Munich about signing striker Mathys Tel.
The Red Devils are eyeing up a new striker but will struggle to convince the 18-year-old to make the move across the Channel.
Msn Utd have ‘made contact’ with Bayern Munich striker Mathys Tel[/caption]Tel, who turns 19 in April, is only in his second term at Bayern after joining from Rennes in 2022.
But the starlet’s performance this season has impressed many clubs across Europe.
And according to Sky Germany United are tipped to be one of the sides pursuing the Frenchman in the next transfer window.
Tel is capable of playing across the frontline and this term has registered six goals and three assists in 27 games across all competitions for Bayern.
However, the club will struggle to get Tel’s signature as the report adds he is determined to stay and fight for his place in the hopes of becoming a legend at the club.
The reigning Bundesliga champions intend to sign a new striker to replace the veteran Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting this summer which could alter the situation.
The report also claimed two other unnamed Premier League side have also enquired about the forward.
Tel’s agent told Bild: “Mathys loves Bayern, the fans… and he wants to be important and win all the trophies.

“Sometimes you just need to feel like you’re on the same path. I’m confident about it.
“If not, we have to consider all options.”
Meanwhile, Erik ten Hag‘s side has expressed his frustration with United not having sufficient funds to sign a No9 in January.
And youngster Tel is capable of playing all across the frontline though most of his 27 appearances have come from the bench this season.
One of his notable performances was scoring in Bayern’s 4-3 win against United in the group stages of the Champions League in September.
United even tried to grab Tel’s competitor for the No9 spot Harry Kane in the summer before his move to the Bundesliga.
Old Trafford’s new shareholders INEOS will take control of the club operations but are still debating on what positions need strengthening this summer.
