MANCHESTER UNITED are reportedly ready to make a transfer offer for French international Youssouf Fofana.

As Sofyan Amrabat and Casemiro continue to struggle on Erik ten Hag‘s side the £26million rated Monaco star is set to be a potential replacement.

United’s midfielders poor performance this season has not gone unnoticed and Ten Hag is ready to bring reinforcements in the new year.

According to Caught Off Side, the Red Devils are monitoring their interest in Fofana and are ready to take action soon.

For a player of his ability, an asking price of £26m for the 24-year-old is reasonable and could be of great benefit to Ten Hag’s inconsistent side.

The midfielder’s fee seems quite affordable for a club like Manchester United and remains to be seen whether all parties can sort out an agreement in the coming weeks now, the report claims.

Fofana has been a key player this term for Monaco and started in all 15 of his Ligue 1 performances.

He has the physical and technical qualities to go far in English football but it is whether he can adapt quickly in the Premier League.

The ex-Strasbourg star can play as a central and defensive midfielder.

Fofana has one goal and three assists to his name across all competitions this season.

And the report adds that an opportunity for the midfielder to head over to Old Trafford could be an attractive option for him and will find it hard to turn down.

Man Utd haven’t had the same Casemiro this season as they did last year with the 31-year-old struggling to impress for Ten Hag so far.

His injury has kept him sidelined since October forcing the Dutch boss to look elsewhere for a midfielder.

Meanwhile, Fiorentina loanee Ambrabat has not fulfilled the expectations those at United would have hoped for.

The Morrocan international did not even feature in the matchday squad for the Red Devils 3-2 victory against Aston Villa.
