United appeared to be frontrunners for De Ligt’s signature after agreeing personal terms with the Dutchman.

But PSG are keen to hijack the deal according to transfer expert Christian Falk.

He also claims the French champions want to sign his Bayern team-mate Kinglsey Coman, who came through PSG’s academy.

However their move for De Ligt could hit a stumbling block as they are yet to hold talks with his agent.

That is because the defender is giving priority to United, according to Fabrizio Romano.

He reports the Red Devils are now in negotiations with Bayern, with a fee and deal structure to be agreed.

The German giants are understood to value the Holland international at £42million.

De Ligt has three years remaining on his Bayern deal.
