MANCHESTER UNITED are reportedly ready to make Crystal Palace chief Dougie Freedman their new head of recruitment.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe has already kick-started his new era by moving for Man City’s Omar Berrada as CEO.
Newcastle’s Dan Ashworth looks set to join as technical director.
And Freedman is now being lined up to revolutionise United’s transfer dealings.
The former Scotland striker has been Palace’s sporting director since 2017.
He’s credited with amassing some of the Premier League’s top young talent during that time, including Eberechi Eze, Marc Guehi and – most recently – Adam Wharton.
And the Independent claims Ratcliffe is eager for Freedman to swap Selhurst Park for Old Trafford.
Palace are aware of United’s interest and will not stop Freedman from leaving.
But they will offer him a new contract in the hope that he decides to stay and assist new manager Oliver Glasner.
United are eager for Freedman to join as soon as possible as they prepare for a summer of change.

Manager Erik ten Hag is under pressure after a disappointing season.
United crashed out of the Champions League at the group stage after finishing bottom of their table.
And they are currently sixth in the Premier league, 11 points off fourth and 19 behind leaders Liverpool.
Big-money signings like Antony, Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane could find themselves heading out of the door.
And should he join, one of Freedman’s first tasks could be to complete a raid on Palace for long-term United target Michael Olise.
